William P. Jablonski, 82, of 17 Meech Avenue, Groton, passed away early Monday morning at Fairview in Groton where he had been a resident since April.
He was born July 3, 1924 in New London, the son of the late Anthony and Eleanora (Pindelski) Jablonski.
He married the former Helen Cekala in Mystic on May 17, 1952.
He graduated from Chapman Technical High School, attended the University of Connecticut and retired from Electric Boat as a Senior Designer.
Mr. Jablonski was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS Nicholas. He was a life member and past commander of the Polish American Veterans Club, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eastern Point Property Owners Association in Groton.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, and daughter, Karen, of Beach Haven, NJ. He was predeceased by his brother Stefan Jablonski of New Jersey and his half brother, Stanley Stroniewski of Waterford.
His family will greet relatives and friends at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic on Friday from 8:45 to 9:45am, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, East Main Street, Mystic at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Old Mystic.
