WORCESTER-Anna S. (Baris) Vangel, 90, of Worcester, died Saturday, October 21st in UMass Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Nickola J. Vangel died in 1987. She is survived by 2 sons, Arthur Vangel of Worcester and John Vangel of Sterling, a brother, Felix J. Baris of Auburn, a sister, Josephine S. Chiras of Worcester and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. A son, George Vangel and a daughter, Marie Boris predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of John and Suzanna (Canter) Baris. Mrs. Vangel was employed by Legitt’s Drug Store where she worked as a manager for several years. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and volunteered at Monson State Hospital.
The funeral is Wednesday, October 25th at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 24th from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
