Michael S. “OD” O’Donnell, 22, of Norton died unexpectedly on Thursday October 19, 2006 in Taunton, MA.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 24, 1984 he was a beloved son of Stephen M. O’Donnell of North Providence, Rhode Island and Lisa M. (Sharples) Miller and her husband David Miller of Norton.
He was educated in Norton schools and was a 2002 graduate of Norton High School.
Mr. O’Donnell was employed for the past 3 years at U.P.S. in Norwood where he worked in the Shipping and Receiving Dept.
An avid NASCAR fan he also enjoyed the outdoors and especially surfing. Michael displayed an extreme kindness for animals. When mike was younger he was a Marine Cadet which was affiliated with the Attleboro Lodge of Elks. ‘’OD” had spent two years in Costa Rica with his family when they transferred to work there. He truly fell in love with Costa Rica and its way of life. He had lived in Norton for most of his life.
In addition to his beloved parents he is survived by his devoted sisters and brother; Jessica L. O’Donnell of Norton, Lauren J. Daley of San Francisco, California and Daniel J. Miller of New York City, New York. His loving grandparents; James and Barbara (Lapham) O’Donnell of Pawtucket, R. I. and John and Maureen (Freitas) Sharples of Cumberland, R.I. Also survived by his many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday October 26th at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, South Worcester St., Norton. Burial will follow in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket, R.I.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 25th from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
