New Bedford - Leopold (Kierer) Eberl, 104, of Westport passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the widow of Josef Eberl.
Born in Christkindl, Austria, daughter of the late Leopold and Maria (Schimpelsberger) Kierer, and had resided in Westport for the past 16 years. Nana as she was affectionately called by family and friends was the joy of everyone and the oldest resident of Westport holding the towns gold tipped cane for over one year.
Survivors include a daughter: Leopoldine “Olly” Elias of Westport; 2 grandsons; 4 great grandchildren; 1 niece; and 1 great nephew in Austria.
