Alberta A. Knowles, 66, of Pine Isle Drive, Derry, NH died Friday September 13, 2002 at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington, MA. She was born in Boston, MA on March 4, 1936, a daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Welch) Morrison. She was a resident of Derry since 1970, formerly living in Somerville, MA. She was a graduate of Bunker Hill Community College, Boston, MA. She was the owner and operator of the Bookkeeper of Concord, Concord, NH. She was an avid reader and had written a book about herself for her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, spending time with family and family gatherings. She enjoyed listening to jokes and telling jokes. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh.
She is survived by her husband James B. Knowles, of Derry, one son, John Baird, Massachusetts, one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Lynn) Ball, Londonderry, NH, three grandchildren, three brothers, Donald Morrison, of Florida, Kent Morrison, Cambridge, MA, John Morrison, Lexington, MA, five sisters, Dorothy Smith, Alfred, ME, Shirley Morrison, Marlborough, MA, Katherine MacDonald, of Medford, MA, Barbara Lawrence, of S. Weymouth, MA, Donna Morrison, Malden, Ma., also several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday September 18, 2002 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm following the calling hours. Following cremation, burial will be at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Scleraderma Foundation, New England Chapter, 218 Boston Street, Suite 103, Topsfield, MA 01983.
