Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wed. at 11 AM. Visiting hours Tues. 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute 44 Binney St. Boston, MA 02215 or to his family to help defray funeral expenses.
Obituary
Mr. MacKay died Friday afternoon at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.He was born in Jamaica Plain, son of the late Joseph A. and Harriet E. (Richardson) MacKay, Sr. He has been a resident of East Bridgewater since 1964 previously living in Roslindale.
Mr. MacKay was a chef by trade having worked at the Department of Corrections in Bridgewater, Juvenile Camp in Halifax, The Standish Grille, Monponsett Inn and Howard Johnson.
He was an amateur photographer and enjoyed being the “official photographer” at family functions.He had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgewater where he was Deacon. Emeritus.
In addition to his son and daughter he is survived by 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildrenOne brother Harry MacKay of New Mexico and many nieces and nephewsHe was the brother of the late Joe, Teddy, Ernie, Dick and Francis MacKay.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, Brockton. The Rev. F. Bradford Townley of First Baptist Church, Bridgewater will officiate. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, E. Bridgewater.
