Diane Catherine Montesi, 52, of 144 Warren Avenue, Mystic, died Wednesday.
Ms. Montesi was devoted to her family and enjoyed many interests, including long, quiet walks on the beach, embroidery, and reading. She often volunteered at The Alliance for Living in New London.
A graduate of Waterford High School, Ms. Montesi worked for Southern New England Telephone Co., and then became self-employed.
She is the daughter of Catherine J. Baron of Mystic, with whom she lived, and the late Frederick P. Montesi, who passed away in 1965.
In addition to her mother, she leaves a son, Eric James Lamb of Uncasville, formerly of Ledyard; a sister, Clara A. Montesi of Waterford; and a nephew, Marco Brenciaglia, also of Waterford.
She was predeceased by her brother, Michael P. Montesi, who died in 1978, and a stepfather, Leonard Baron, who passed away in 1988. She has many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the region and in New York State.
The funeral will assemble at 9:15am Monday at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic, and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Patrick Church, 32 East Main St., Mystic. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery on Jefferson Avenue in New London.
Visitation on Sunday is private.
