Joseph F. Marletta, 96 of Somerville died Saturday after a brief illness in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Medford, MA.
Born in Italy, he lived in Medford since 1958 and formerly of the West End of Boston. Joseph was the son of the late Agatha (Menino) and John Marletta. Mr. Marletta retired in 1996 at the age of 88 from the Union Club of Boston where he had worked for 16 years with various duties. He also was a Truck Driver, delivering bread in the Boston area for many years with several different companies and retired in 1978.
Beloved husband of the late Frances (Gulino) Marletta. Devoted father of Joanne Marcos of Beverly, Ida Accardi, Mariann Carnazzo and Joseph Marletta all of Somerville. Also survived by 7 Grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1great great granddaughter. Brother of Mary Pietrafitta of Wakefield, and Robert Nicolosi of Las Vegas, NV.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
