Sarah Owens, 80, Fitzgerald, Georgia died Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, Macon, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at Crossview Baptist Church with the Rev. David Fisher and the Rev. Barry Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 PM.
Mrs. Owens was born October 1, 1926, in Irwin County to the late Joseph Hillsman and Bessie Melinda Bell Griffin. She had lived for 20 years in Winter Haven, FL where she was employed by Cypress Garden Citrus Products. She moved back to Fitzgerald in 1975 and was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Owens is survived by her 4 sons: Michael Owens, Bobby Owens and Donnie Owens all of Fitzgerald, Ga. and Gene (Laverne) Owens, Kathleen, Ga., 3 daughters: Brenda (Raymond) Crutchfield, Winter Haven, FL, Lynn Bishop, Warner Robins, GA, and Pat Taylor, Sparks, GA; Nine Grandchildren; Eight Great Grandchildren; Brothers: Alton and Jimmy Griffin both of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
