WEST BOYLSTON-Ruth E. (Larson) Oberg, 88, formerly of Tatman Street, Worcester, died Friday, October 13 in Oakdale Nursing Center. Her husband of 30 years, Melvin L. Oberg predeceased her in 1988. A brother, Carl E. Larson and a sister, Louise E. Larson, also predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Charles E. and Hulda M. (Bergstrom) Larson and graduated from Commerce High School in 1936. Mrs. Oberg worked for various companies and retired from U.S. Steel. She was an active member of the Salvation Army, Quinsigamond Corp and enjoyed reading, baking and bowling.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 17 in All Faith’s Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to Salvation Army, Citadel Corp, 630 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
