Manchester, NH – Genevieve B. (McCluskey) Turner, 99, died Thursday October 12, 2006 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.
Born and educated in Lawrence, Genevieve had been the owner and operator of Turners Variety Store on Cross St. in Salem, NH for more than 54 years.
She was a former communicant of St. Monica’s Church in Methuen before moving to Manchester.
When operating the family variety store she had a real knack for remembering all of their customers first names. Genevieve was a very good baker.
According to her daughter Mary, when her sisters and brother were living they were very close.
Genevieve was the widow of Edgar A. Turner, Sr.
Survivors include daughter Joan K. Castricone of Loudon, NH, Mary F. Somma of Manchester and formerly of Salem, NH, and a son Edgar A. Turner, Jr. of Salem, NH, 8 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, 6 greatgreatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock in St. Monica’s Church of Methuen with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 P. M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
