Obituary;

Frank G. Escobedo Jr. a Woburn resident since 1987, passed away at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston on October 7, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Michelle Farino - Escobedo.

Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was the son of Josephine Escobedo of Cheyenne, Wyoming and the late Frank G. Escobedo. He was educated in Cheyenne, Wyoming graduating East High School, he entered the military folowing graduation and served for three years during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he attended the University of Wyoming where he received a BS degree in electrical engineering.

In 1987 he accepted his first engineering position with the Food and Drug Administration in Winchester, Massachusetts. He packed up his green "72" Ford F100 truck, put on his camper shell and headed for Boston. His family fully expected him to return to Wyoming, since most people from Wyoming, especially his family, develop deep roots and many good friends.

In 1989, while living in Woburn, he met and fell in love with his wife Michelle Farino, who worked at the Food and Drug Administration as a trainee during a six month coop program with University of Massachusetts Amherst. They dated for many years traveling to Wyoming, Florida, Oregon, Atlantic City, Nova Scotia, Bermuda.

In 1991, they started to breed Chinese Shar-pei´s. His dogs were very dear to him. He loved camping up north and he took many local trips to surrounding states with his dogs.

In 1994 he was diagnosed with liver disease. From 1995 to 2002 Frank worked full-time at the Food and Drug Administration living a normal life while trying many forms of rigorous treatments that eventually failed.

Frank enjoyed hang gliding, working on cars, riding his motorcycle, hiking and fishing with his dog, and being a general handy man who could fix anything. In June 2000 Frank married Michelle, it was a spectacular day. One and half years later Frank had major complications from his liver disease and required a liver transplant.

In May of 2002 a heroic Bill Boivin, friend and co-worker donated sixty percent of his own liver in a effort to help Frank. In his fight for life Frank battled numerous hospitalizations and during this period of time his son Jesse was born. Frank continued to work one day a week and take care of Jesse. He endured much and never complained. He loved his family dearly, but God called him home

Along with his wife and son he survived by his mother Josephine Escobedo of Wyoming, three brothers, Mark of Nevada, George and John of Wyoming, two sisters, Marie Hearns of Washington and Jeanne Johnson of Wyoming, his father in law and mother in law Pamela McLaughlin and Patrick Farino and many loving nieces and nephews.

Frank was predeceased by his late father Frank G. Escobedo.
