NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL/ DUDLEY – Albert L. Thibaudeau, 64, of 2832 Osprey Cove Drive, New Smyrna Beach, FL, formerly of Charlton and Dudley, died Thursday, October 5, at home after a one year illness.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, Barbara J. (Plasse) Thibaudeau; 2 sons, Andrew P. Thibaudeau and his fiancee Brenda Zulkiewicz, and Thomas P. Thibaudeau and his wife Debi, all of Dudley; 2 brothers, Maurice Thibaudeau and his wife Cynthia of Sacramento, CA, and Ernest Thibaudeau and his wife Michelle of Sturbridge; a sister, Jeanne Pouliot and her husband Rodney of Ashford, CT; a sister-in-law, Mary Thibaudeau of Charlton; 2 grandsons, Andrew P. Thibaudeau and Ryan Thibaudeau; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother Francis Thibaudeau of Charlton.
He was born in Southbridge and raised in Charlton, a son of Paul and Irene (Langlais) Thibaudeau. He lived in Charlton and then Dudley before moving to Florida last year. He graduated from Charlton High School in 1960 and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Worcester State College in 1964. He also held a Master of Education Degree.
Mr. Thibaudeau began his 37 year career in education as a history teacher at Charlton High School. He was appointed as one of the first two vice principals at Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley when it opened in 1973. He then was promoted to principal of the high school and later named Superintendent of the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District. He planned and oversaw the construction of the new Dudley Middle School and Charlton Middle School before retiring in 2001.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 15, at 3:00 PM in West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Albert L.
