Obituary



Bernard F. Amero, of West Palm Beach, formerly of Melrose and Medford, died on October 2nd, in Florida. He was 83.


Mr. Amero was raised in Medford, the son of the late Walter and the late Mary (Saulnier) Amero. He served in the Army during World War II. Upon return from the war he worked with General Electric in the aircraft engine division. He later went to work for the Medford Fire Department as mechanic and oversaw the maitanance of the fire department’s fleet for 50 years. A disabled veteran, Bernard was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.


He was the husband of the late Mary G. (Amirault). He was the father of Bernard Amero and his partner Tony Serratore of Florida, Stephen Amero and his partner Helen Nicholson of Medford, and Karen Graham of NH. He was the grandfather of Stephen and Cheryl Amero and Kegan and Kyrsis Graham. He was the great-grandfather of Shawn, Jason, Brittany, Shrieve, Cheyanne, Devlin and Tobin. He was the brother of Willard Amero of Medford, “Bunny” Bueler Pitts of NH, Mary Amero of CA and the late Walter Amero.


A Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday, Oct. 7th at 10 am at Incarnation of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Church, 425 Upham St., Melrose. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Friends may call Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
