Olive M. “Ollie” (Enman) Prohodsky, 81, of Mansfield died on Tuesday October 3, 2006 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Prohodsky to whom she was married to for 59 years at the time of his death on May 12, 1993.
Born in Attleboro, MA on March 31, 1925 she was a loving daughter of the late Albert A. and Ann (Desmond) Enman.
Educated in Mansfield schools, she was a 1943 graduate of Mansfield High School. Mrs. Prohodsky worked for the Mansfield Co-Operative Bank for 25 years before retiring 16 years ago. She had been the Assistant Treasurer at the banks Mansfield location for 12 years and retired after serving 13 years as the Branch manager at the banks Norton location.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield and was also a member of the church’s catholic Women’s Club. She was a charter member and a past president of the Mansfield Emblem Club No. 531 and was the first woman member of the Mansfield Lodge of Elks No. 2633.
Ollie was a charter member of the Mansfield Band Parents Club to which she belonged to for 35 years. She enjoyed traveling with the high school band and her friends and was always a favorite chaperon amongst the students. She was a lifelong resident of Mansfield.
She is survived by her devoted sons Dennis W. Kaleta and his wife Irene of Mansfield and John D. Kaleta and his wife Kathleen of Mansfield. Also surviving are her loving 4 grandchildren, 1 niece and 1 nephew. She was the sister of the late Adair Robinson who passed away earlier this year.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday October 7th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday October 6th from 4-7 P. M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers Ollie’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Citizens Scholarship Foundation P.O. Box 23 Mansfield, MA 02048
