DRACUT—Gladys L. (Buffum) Nickerson, 85 years old, a longtime resident of Wilmington, died early Friday morning, September 29th, at the home of her daughter in Dracut. She was the wife of the late Herbert Davis Nickerson.
She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on March 3, 1921, a daughter of the late Sydney Porter Buffum and the late Wilhelmina Sophie (Stephan) Buffum, and was a graduate of Acton Public Schools.
Surviving her are a daughter and son-in-law: Susan and David Couture, of Dracut; a son and daughter-in-law: John H. and Faye Nickerson, of Sebastian, FL; four grandchildren: David J. Couture, Jennifer M. Couture, Jennifer M. Nickerson, and Christina A. Nickerson; a cousin: Gloria Whitehead, of Auburn; a niece: Barbara Pederson, three nephews: Donald, Robert and Glen Buffum.
She was the sister of the late Robert Stanton Buffum and Donald C. Buffum.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM on Sunday, October 1st, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her funeral service to follow at 8 PM in the funeral home.
