George Arruda. Age 82. Husband of the late Margaret(Paiva)Arruda. Residence 469 No. Underwood St., Fall River, MA.
Died Thursday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Portsmouth, RI. Son of the late Manuel Arruda and Mary (Virdinlia) Arruda. He was a Fall River resident since 1940’s. Before retiring, he was a Baker working lastly at Bertha’s Bakery and Steve’s Doughnuts. He was a member of the V.F.W.and "Armed Guards”, a veteran’s organization. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Church.
He is survived by Two Sons: Gary S. Arruda of Fall River, MA and Alan G. Arruda of Fall River, MA. One Daughter: Susan M. Dube of Dartmouth, MA. One Brother: Anthony Arruda of Little Compton, RI. One Sister: Agnes Golenbeski of Little Compton, RI. 5 Grandchildren: Christopher, Michelle, Thomas, Ian and Kristen. 1 Great Grandson: Dylan and Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Manuel, Louis, James, John, Frank, and Joseph Arruda, Mary Gomes, Evangleline Fagundes, Theresa Wells and Josephine Boudle.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home,1521 No. Main St. Monday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, No. Main St., at 10:00 A.M. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-8 P.M.
