Brother of Pedro and Louis Velazquez, Olivia, Angela and Ines Torres all of Puerto Rico and Marguerita Velazquez of Lynn. Grandfather of Marcus Libby, Aaliyah Seitz and Jayden Bates.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 7:45 am followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church at 9 am. Visitation will be prior to the mass.Internment in Melrose Cemetery

Jaime S. Velazquez, Sr., 61 years died Thursday at the Brockton Hospital. Born in Puerto Rico, the son of the late Estansio and Isabel (Santiago) Velazquez. Mr. Velazquez was raised and educated in Puerto Rico; after leaving school he immediately joined his family farming. At the age of eighteen he left Puerto Rico and came to the States and settled in Florida for the first few years he continued farming with many others immigrants. After leaving Florida he spent a short time in Atlantic City prior to moving to Brockton in the early sixties. For seventeen years Jaime worked in the shipping and receiving dept. of the M.B.Claff Company in Brockton and presently was employed as a Mould Closer for the LeBaron Foundry in Brockton where he worked for the past eighteen years. Jaime will be remembered for his outgoing, funny personality who considered his friends his family. His children have said everyone who met him was touched by his big heart. His hobbies included coin collecting, wrestling and a passion for vintage knives and Johnny Cash.
