MASTRAS, George, MD of Wellesley died on October 25, 2026 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Athena (Zariphes) Mastras (died 2015) for 56 years, and father of Maria P. Jacquemetton and her husband Andre of Manhattan Beach, CA; Dean G. Mastras, MD and wife Julie of Gig Harbor, WA; and George Mastras, Jr., and his wife Hope of La Canada Flintridge, CA. Grandfather of Luc and Tia Jacquemetton, and Kassandra, Isabella, Sophia and Alexandra Mastras. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Mastras was a graduate of the University of Connecticut (1955, B.S. chemistry) and the University of Vermont College of Medicine (1959, M.D.). He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-64, and worked as an anesthesiologist at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston, and then at Norwood Hospital in Norwood for over 30 years.
A visitation will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown St, Weston on Monday, Nov. 2 from 10-11am followed by a funeral service beginning at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
