Deanna "Dee" Frances Walsh passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026 from congestive heart failure.
She was born in Bakersfield to Frank and Moneta Goodrick on August 1, 1940. Her father was a civil engineer, and moved the family to the Cummings Valley outside of Tehachapi to fulfill his dream of being a farmer. Although Dee was a girl, she was the oldest child, and learned to drive a tractor and to operate a bailer at an early age. One of her early learning experiences was getting the tractor stuck in the tailwater pond, and getting it out as well.
In 1972, she met Harry Walsh, a young lawyer from Oxnard. They were married in November of 1972, and lived in Ventura where they successfully raised five children. Her life was focused on her husband, her children, her friends, her home, and her membership in Community Presbyterian Church. Like Will Rogers, Dee never met a person she did not like (and who did not like her). She was always warm, friendly, poised, and gracious. At Community Presbyterian Church, she cared for toddlers on Sunday morning, served on the Board of Deacons, and was a proud tenor in the church choir.
She is survived by her husband, Harry, five children, Mark, Lanette, Brett, Margaret, and Harry as well as eight grand children, and six great grandchildren. Each of her children and grandchildren was her favorite.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours and viewing to be held at JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street in Ventura on Monday November 16 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, 1555 Poli Street, Ventura on Tuesday November 17 at 10:00 with light refreshments to follow in the patio. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Community Presbyterian Church.
