Terril J. Davis, 82, of Templeton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, following an illness.
A passionate farmer, skilled carpenter, avid gardener, and proud family man, Terril lived a life defined by hard work, creativity, and devotion to those he loved. As a farmer, his days began early, tending to the animals and milking the cows. He took great pride in his work and found joy in creating things with his own hands.
Terril’s carpentry skills and creativity were evident in everything he did. He built his beloved home from the ground up, crafting the furniture that filled it and creating decorative pieces as special gifts for his wife. He also built dog houses, picnic tables, and countless other things, always finding ways to put his talents to work to help support his family. Whether tending his garden, working on the farm, or building something new, Terril found fulfillment in working hard and providing for the people he loved.
Above all, Terril was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man. His love for his family was at the heart of everything he did, and the home he built was a reflection of the life and memories they shared together.
Terril was predeceased by his father, Frederick Davis; his beloved mother, Alice Davis; and his brother, Daniel Davis.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of more than 56 years, Paulette, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. He also leaves his seven children: Colleen Davis of Winchendon; James Davis of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire; Brian Davis and his wife, Peggy, of Winchendon; Bonnie Choquette and her husband, Andre, of Phillipston; Heidi Morley and her husband, Richard, of Winchendon; Carl Davis and his wife, Sara, of Shelburne; and Tina Davis of Winchendon. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, his sister, Laura Davis, of Pasadena, California; his brother, Howard Davis, of Boxboro; and his half-brother, Keith Davis, of Florence, Wisconsin.
Terril’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many devoted friends who visited, cared for, and supported him over the years, especially during the final weeks of his life. Their kindness and companionship meant so much to Terril and his family.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Terril will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his remarkable skills, his creativity, and, most of all, his unwavering love for his family. The home he built, the things he created, and the memories he leaves behind will remain lasting reminders of a life well lived and a man deeply loved.
