Eva L. Zelenak, 88, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026, at the Greenwood Nursing Home Wakefield MA.
Born on January 7, 1938 in Pottstown, PA her mother Mary raised her together with her elder brother Ervin and Eva grew up in Pottstown PA and graduated from North Coventry High School.
Eva’s mother worked hard to send her to Westchester School of Nursing in Westchester, PA. It was here where she learned the skills of nursing and she received all of the prestigious nursing honors at her graduation. Eva went onto a successful career as a nurse in various hospitals, nursing homes, and doctor’s offices. Her last position was at Maine Medical Associates in Portland, ME. Eva touched many people’s lives as a nurse and all of her patients loved her. She always came home with gifts and cards from her patients.
Eva was a devoted wife to Donald Zelenak who passed away in 2023.
Eva loved her family and raised two children – Linda Genovese and Anita Briggs. Eva was devoted to her children and passed on to them her love and care. Eva retired with Donald in Millsboro, DE where they enjoyed golfing, boating, and spending time with her grandchildren – Andrew, Peter, Joseph, and Meghan and great granddaughter Felisha. Eva was very kind to her grandchildren and was always there for them.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday October 31 at 11AM at Saint Williams Church in Tewksbury. Her burial will be in Pottstown, PA at Highland Memorial Park at a later date.
