Keefe, Shirley Marie (Harrington)
Age 91, of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026.
Shirley was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Harrington of South Boston and the wife of the late Francis Keefe. She was predeceased by her older sister, June Hunkiar.
She was the cherished mother of Sandra Miller (Tom) of Conway, SC; Scott Politano (Susan) of Holbrook; Christopher Keefe (Sandy) of Quincy; and Jonathan Keefe of South Boston. She was the beloved grandmother of Andrea, Frankie, Kelsey, Zach, Jessica, and Caroline, and the proud great-grandmother of Eli, Zoe, Cole, Charlotte, Melody, and Mia. She was an Auntie to Robin and George Hunkiar.
Shirley worked at the famous Filene’s Basement for 20 years. She loved the beach and raising her family in “Southie.” She will be remembered for her love of literature and for composing her own original poetry.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Casper Funeral Services, 187 Dorchester St., South Boston, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
