Worcester – Maurice L. Tate, 72, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026 in CareOne at Millbury after an extended illness.
Maurice (Mo) is survived by his stepdaughter, Angela Kenyon of Worcester, along with her husband Robert and daughter, Trinity; a brother, Harold Tate of Augusta, GA and his wife Angelika; sister-in-laws Vivian Tate of Tomball, TX and Carol Tate of Memphis, TN; plus several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maurice was born in Memphis, TN as the fifth son of the late Ernest Lamar Tate and Claudia Mae (Cummings) Tate and is also predeceased by his loving grandmother, three brothers and one sister.
Maurice was a 1971 Graduate of Memphis Technical High School and a 1974 graduate of Graham Junior College in Boston, MA. After graduation, Maurice went on to have a stellar photography career with WBZ (CBS) Boston for 42 years. Maurice was a member of Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. He enjoyed music, all electronics, and his dog.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 5:30 PM in the Dirsa-Morin Memorial Chapel 298 Grafton Street Worcester. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:30 to 5:30 PM in the funeral home.
