Obituary

Robert Nelson Neil, of 832 Sixth Avenue, Berlin, NH was born in Berlin on September 27th, 1933, and notably returned to God on his 73rd Birthday, September 27th, 2006 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of Robert J. and Bella Labrecque Neil.

Robert graduated from Berlin High School in 1953. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. In July of 1958, he married Jeanne Pare of Lewiston, Maine. Bob was employed by Groveton papers in 1963. He worked as a Supervisor in the #1 Finishing Room for many years then as a Security Guard until his retirement from Wausau Paper Company in June of 1998. He was a member of St. Kieran Church, now known as Good Shepard Parish.

Bob served many years as Director of the Joliette Snowshoe Club’s Drum and Bugle Corps as well as for the Sokokie Chiefs Drum and Bugle Corps. Roberts’ passion was his love of family and friends. Hobbies included being an avid New York Giants Football fan, attending aqua aerobics at the Royalty Athletic Club in Gorham, watching his niece play softball, fill-in work puzzle books, long car rides, and especially spending time with his granddaughter, Rebecca.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Jeanne; a daughter Linda Dutile and her husband Thomas of Manchester; a son Richard and his wife Dianna of Lewiston, ME; one granddaughter Rebecca LeBlanc-Dutile of Manchester; and his sister Gladys Guay of Berlin; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Wilfred and Kenneth.

Relatives and friends may call at Bryant Funeral Home on Friday, September 29th, 2006 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH. Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 30th, 2006 also at Bryant Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Kieran Cemetery at a later date.
