Veronica M. Batyay, 85, of Derry, NH, died Sunday October 11, 2026 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. She was born on July 29, 1941 in Budapest, Hungary, a daughter of the late Stephen and Gizella (Varajti) Batyay. Veronica had been a resident of Derry since 1995, formerly living in S. Lawrence, MA. She was a professional ballerina in Europe from the age of 14. Veronica had been employed as a group leader in electronics at Inner Step Boston in Andover, MA.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine Plagenza-Paine, and Kimberly Deziree both of Concord, NH; her grandchildren, Tiffany Hall, Anthony Plagenza, Christian Plagenza, Olivia Naya, Ricardo Naya, and Angelina Naya and two great-grandchildren, Zander and Elijah. She was predeceased by her sister, Erica Ruby.
Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
