Cherished Donna “Kiki” Hussey, 74 of Dorchester, MA, passed peacefully surrounded by those who deeply loved her on October 6th, 2026.
Donna was a fierce woman who had a strong personality and was unapologetically herself. She was always cracking jokes and her laugh is unforgettable to those who had the pleasure of experiencing her. Those who knew Donna knew there was never anyone quite like her.
Donna was not one to sit at home. She was always out and about, finding something to do. Donna very much enjoyed her independence and always kept herself busy. Whether it be going to the Post with friends and family or taking the bus to her next adventure, Donna lived life to the fullest in her own way.
Most of all, Donna had an undeniable, unconditional love for her grandchildren. They were incredibly important to her and the bonds she carried with her grandchildren will carry over with her for eternity.
Unfortunately in the last year of Donna’s life, she faced multiple health battles that took a toll on her body and brought many changes to her day to day life. It was a heartbreaking emotional journey for those who watched Donna decline over the course of the last year. Despite her final chapter being distinguished by struggle and illness, her life was so much more than the hurdles she faced. She will forever be remembered by the places she went, the friends she met and cherished along the way, and most importantly the profound love she carried for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donna leaves behind her loving family, survived by Betty Holland of Dorchester, children Kim Foley and Edmund “Spanky” Hussey and his partner Janine Lucreziano, grandchildren Julia Hussey, Jeha Barachy, Jasea Carvalho, Hannah Foley and Ariannah Gomes, and great-grandchildren Dauntles Sprague and Novie Barachy, and many loving nieces and nephews. She is reunited in heaven with her daughter Dawn Hussey, siblings Mary Potter, Al “Bummy” Hussey, Jack Hussey, and Patrick Hussey and is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Julia Hussey and late husband Edmund L. Dern.
Donna’s wishes were that services not be held, but instead a Celebration of Life where friends and family can gather together and honor the life of beloved Donna and those she leaves behind. The Celebration of Life is to be determined at a later date.
