WORCESTER-Rosalie H. (Lyons) Orsi, 88, of 14 Harwich Street, passed away Wednesday, September 27th, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Louis J. Orsi, died in 1977. She leaves 3 sons, Roger L. Orsi and his wife Elizabeth of Sutton, David L. Orsi and his wife Deborah of Auburn and Louis A. Orsi and his wife Freda of Millbury; 2 daughters, Linda L., wife of Richard Fyrberg of Spencer and Brenda A. wife of Frank Beshai of Lakeland, FL; a brother, Arthur Lyons and his wife Barbara of Providence, RI; a sister in law, Mildred Lyons of Fitchburg; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Paul L. Orsi in 1993, a daughter, Sr. Dolores Marie Orsi with the Sisters of Providence / Maryknoll in 1997, and a brother, Edward Lyons.
Mrs. Orsi was born in Worcester, the daughter of Daniel and Virginia (Manseau) Lyons and graduated from Commerce High School and David Hale Fanning School of Nursing. She was a licensed practical nurse at Worcester City Hospital for many years and, with her husband, owned and operated Orsi and Sons Kitchen Center, retiring in 1987. Mrs. Orsi was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church, the Quota Club and the Webster Square Business Association, which named her Person of the Year in 1985. She enjoyed visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The funeral is Friday, September 29th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Avenue. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, September 28th, from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
