CONCORD ---- Catherine (Cathy) Margaret Walsh, 74, of Maitland Street, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, after living with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) for the last 3 years.
Cathy was born on May 9, 1952, in East Derry, NH, the daughter of the late George Walsh and Ruth (Patterson) DeJeet formerly Keeping.
Cathy started her career at the Woolco Department Store but spent the majority of her time working for Chubb LifeAmerica/Jefferson Pilot Financial/Lincoln Financial Group for 25 years. She finished her career working for Concord Group Insurance. She enjoyed traveling, reading, going to concerts (especially when country music is involved), cooking, collecting daylilies and visiting as many light houses as she could.
Cathy lived her life with an appreciation for meaningful experiences, treasured memories, and the people she loved most. One of the special highlights of her life was having the opportunity to fulfill a dream on her bucket list by traveling to Alaska in May of 2024. The trip was an adventure she had hoped to experience, and being able to see the incredible beauty and scenery of Alaska firsthand became a memory she cherished. Cathy understood the importance of enjoying life, embracing opportunities, and making memories along the way. Her trip to Alaska was a beautiful reminder that some dreams are worth holding onto until the moment finally comes to make them a reality.
She had a caring heart, and willingness to help others. Cathy was a natural caretaker, she was someone who was always willing to lend a hand, offer support, and care for those who needed her. Helping others was simply part of who Cathy was, and she found great meaning in being there for the people around her. Beyond her immediate family she was Aunt Cathy to many of her friend’s children. Cathy also had a mischievous side which was appreciated and enjoyed by her family and friends.
Cathy is survived by in her sister-in-law Diane Walsh, of Manchester, NH; a wonderful friend and roommate for over 37 years, DeAnne Fortier, of Concord, NH; niece Kathleen Walsh-Mower, of Elliot, ME; nephews James Walsh, of Punta Gourda, FL, and John Walsh, of Manchester, NH; grand-nieces Phoebe O’Shaughnessy-Walsh and Morgan Banister.
