March 27, 2011 – October 3, 2026
Sophia Rose Gardner, 15, of Uxbridge, passed away on October 3rd, 2026. Sophia was the beloved daughter of Dakota Bosma and Dan Crowley, the cherished granddaughter of Steve Bosma, his partner Lisa, Erin Hougasian, Robert Crowley, and Michelle Crowley and deeply loved by aunts and uncles near and far. Among them was Dakota’s best friend, Autumn Fregeau, whose love and presence were an important part of the person she became.
Sophia leaves behind a family and a circle of friends who will continue to tell her stories, listen to the songs that remind them of her, and look for her in the places she loved. Sophia had a way of making connections with people from all walks of life, leaving behind pieces of herself in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know and love her. They were her people, and she was their person.
Animals held a special place in Sophia’s heart. They seemed to gravitate toward her just as naturally as she gravitated toward them. Her favorite place to be was the barn, where she found happiness, peace, and a sense of belonging through horseback riding. Her love for animals reflected the tenderness and care she had within her.
Sophia was so many things all at once. She could be loud enough to fill a room and silly enough to make people laugh when they least expected it. She was wonderfully eclectic, and wise in ways that seemed far beyond her years. She had her own way of seeing the world, her own way of connecting with people, and her own way of making herself unforgettable. She was not meant to blend in, and she never did.
We love you, Sophia. We will remember you when we look up at the sun, the moon, and the stars. We will find you in the colors of a sunset, the quiet of a sunrise, the songs that remind us of you, and the love that will never leave us. You will forever be a part of us, and wherever we go, we will carry the flame.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Sophia’s honor, with details to follow.
