Priscilla Nelms, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, October 9, 2026, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 3PM, Monday, October 12, 2026, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Randy McDuffie officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Nelms was born December 15, 1943, to the late Jesse Virgil and Gladys Newsome Kight. Mrs. Nelms was formally employed as a bank teller and was the owner of Unique Gallery in Fitzgerald. She was on the Humane Society Board with the City of Fitzgerald for several years, and then actively volunteering for over 10 years. Mrs. Nelms enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping and especially being around people, always looking for a way to help others.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Benny Nelms; a son, Wade Spencer Nelms; a sister, Patricia Ethridge; many nieces and nephews including Beth Nelms McKenzie & Buddy Nelms, who were very close to her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nelms is preceded in death by her siblings, Pamela Harper and Willie Jesse Kight; and a niece, Derinda Lewis.
