Bruce Davis, born March 8, 1956, in West Blocton, Alabama, to the late Rosie Davis and Mack Dixon, lived with personality, curiosity, humor, and a fearless spirit. Bruce worked in the steel trade, entertainment, retail, construction, and transportation, later partnering with his niece LeNita Richardson in Mama Dee’s Transport. He enjoyed driving, good food, baseball, music, and Friday-night games of Bid Whist filled with spirited competition and conversation.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother Rosie Davis. his stepfather, Lonnie Jones; his son, Troy Davis; and siblings Eddie Lee “Jerry” Cooper, Michael Jones, Maurice “Moe” Jones, and Shelia Delores Davis Pappas. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Tanya Walker and Bruce Davis Jr.; grandchildren Ra’Jon W. Davis, Melody Gonzales, and Kyrie K. Davis; godchildren Arianna Nicole Davis and Forest Whitaker IV; siblings Charles Roy Davis (Mabel), Roosevelt Cooper, Mary Richardson, John Lewis Cooper (the late Carol), Garry Davis (Tina), Carolyn Davis Bouie (Greg), Rodney Spencil Davis, Tracey Marcia Davis (Jeffrey), and Marsha Neville (Donald); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
