It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Laura E. Groves, of Dedham, Massachusetts, who died on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
Born on February 26, 1988, Laura was the beloved daughter of John and Diane Guigli and the youngest of four children. Growing up in North Stonington, Connecticut, with her three older brothers, Tom, Joe, and Mike, Laura developed an independent spirit, a competitive nature, and a determination to be part of everything happening around her. She was a little girl who loved her dolls but was equally determined to keep up with her brothers, whether playing sports or joining in their adventures.
Athletics became an important part of Laura's life, particularly soccer, a sport at which she excelled. Her dedication and accomplishments earned her a soccer scholarship to the University of Hartford, where she also distinguished herself academically. It was there that she met Sam, who would become her husband and the love of her life. Following college, Laura brought that same dedication and determination to her professional career with PwC and Liberty Mutual.
Of all Laura's accomplishments, none meant more to her than the family she built with Sam. Their love and commitment to one another formed the foundation of their marriage, and together they found their greatest joy in raising their two children, Reese and Cameron. Laura loved her family beyond measure and devoted herself to filling their lives with laughter, encouragement, and wonderful memories. She especially cherished time spent at the family's homes in Damariscotta, Maine, and Chatham, Massachusetts, two of her favorite places to gather with those she loved. Above all, she wanted Sam, Reese, and Cameron to always know how deeply they were loved.
Laura had a remarkable ability to bring happiness to those around her. She was spirited, funny, determined, and fiercely devoted to her family and friends. Her infectious smile, sense of humor, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Although Laura's life was far too short, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with her family and friends forever. She will be remembered for the beautiful person she was, the beautiful life she lived, and the happiness, warmth, and love she brought into the lives of others.
Laura is survived by her loving husband, Sam, their daughter, Reese, and son, Cameron; her parents, John and Diane Guigli; her three brothers, Tom, Joe (Carli), and Mike (Danielle); Sam's mother, Betsy Groves; his sisters, Emily (Andy) and Mary (Kanika); numerous nieces and nephews; and the family's beloved dog, Charlie. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Steve Groves. She will be deeply missed by her many loving aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High Street, Dedham, Massachusetts. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October, 23, 2026 at a location to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Laura's memory to the Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) at www.curesarcoma.org
