Carol A. (Legare) O’Sullivan, age 85, of Mansfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Denis G. O’Sullivan, Sr., to whom she was wed for fifty-seven years at the time of his death on March 30, 2023.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on April 10, 1941, she was a loving daughter of the late Conrad and Dorothy (Dalton) Legare.
Carol grew up in Plainville and was a graduate of King Philip High School. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a secretary for the Raytheon Corporation. She loved spending time with her adoring family and her hobbies included walking and crocheting.
She is survived by her devoted sons: Denis G. O’Sullivan, Jr. and his wife Aroshna of South Africa and William C. O’Sullivan of Mansfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Courtney, Madison and Paige, and is also survived by 3 great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of the late Dorothy L. Fountain.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, October 29th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:15 P.M.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Thursday, October 29th beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
