Obituary

Margaret Susan Keenan (Davis) of Norwood, affectionately known throughout her life as “Suzy,” passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 69, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, after a period of declining health.

Suzy was, above all else, a woman of extraordinary strength. To her family, she was quite simply the strongest woman they had ever known. She faced life with determination, courage, humor, and more than a little sarcasm. Unwaveringly protective of the people she loved, Suzy was the kind of woman you always wanted in your corner. She fought with that same strength and determination until the very end.

Family was at the center of Suzy’s world.

She was the loving mother of her three sons, Paul Corwin Jr., Matthew Henkin, and Aaron Henkin, and the incredibly proud grandmother of PJ, Lyle, Violet, and Alden. Her grandchildren held an especially treasured place in her heart, and being their grandmother brought her tremendous happiness.

Suzy is survived by her loving companion, Gary Bradford. She is also survived by her siblings Joseph, husband of the late Marilyn; John and his wife Donna; Frank and his wife Terri; James, husband of the late Kathy; Elizabeth and her husband Daniel Rafferty; Barbara Bernard, wife of the late Robert; Thomas; Ann and her husband Paul Beck; and Charles and his wife Rose Musto.

Suzy was predeceased by her Parents, Joseph Davis and Babara (Martin), and siblings Mary and her husband Raymond Turilli; Patricia Davis; and Catherine and her husband Joseph Isbitsky.

Suzy was an aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. With a family as large as hers, the branches of her family tree stretched far and wide, but Suzy’s love of family connected them all.

A proud Massachusetts woman through and through, Suzy loved where she came from. She was an avid New England Patriots fan, enjoyed a good game of Scrabble, and adored her beloved rescue dog, Marley, who wasn’t simply a pet but a cherished member of her family.

Suzy devoted 32 years of her professional life to the West Roxbury MA VA Hospital, serving in areas that included Spinal Cord Injury, Home Care, and Cardiology. Her career was one of service, hard work, and caring for others—qualities that reflected the woman she was outside of work as well.

Those who knew Suzy will remember her strength, her quick wit and sarcasm, her loyalty, and the tremendous love she had for her family. Her sons and grandchildren will remember something even greater: the security of knowing that Mom and Nana were always in their corner.

Her absence leaves an enormous space in the lives of those who loved her, but so does the example she leaves behind—the strength to keep fighting, the importance of family, the ability to find humor even when life gets difficult, and the courage to stand up for and protect the people you love.

She was strong. She was funny. She was fiercely protective. She was Mom. She was Nana. She was Suzy. And she was deeply loved

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Suzy’s life on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 3:00-7:00 PM at P.E. Murray – F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre Street, West Roxbury. A private burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Suzy’s memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02215 or Jimmy Fund Walk for Dana-Farber (Paul Corwin). This will help continue the fight against the disease Suzy faced with such remarkable strength and courage.
