Mrs. Sandra A. (Nicoli) Banks, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Gerald L. Banks, Jr., passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Sunday morning, October 4, 2026. She was 81 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on April 26, 1945, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Rita H. (Lydon) Nicoli. Sandra was employed as an Executive Secretary for many years. In her spare time, she loved cooking for her family and enjoying a good glass of wine. She also loved visiting the beach at Cape May, New Jersey and going out to eat. Sandra also loved spending time with many friends. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Sandra will be dearly missed.
Sandra is survived by her loving children, Dawn L. Banks and her wife Virginia J. Santens of Fountain Hills, Arizona and Mark A. and his wife Tricia A. Banks of Medford, brother, Warren Nicoli and his husband Fred Huntwork of Weymouth, brother-in-law, Steven Sullivan of Carpenteria, California; and nieces, Carolyn Schofield of Northumberland, New Hampshire and Allyson Nicoli of Messena, New York. Sandra was also the sister of the late John Nicoli.
Sandra's funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
