Mr. Peter F. Groff, a resident of Cambridge and beloved husband of the late Juliet G. (Maddock) Groff, passed away at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge on Friday morning, October 2, 2026. He was 89 years old.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Peter was the beloved son of the late Cecil and Helen (Endicott) Groff. Peter was a graduate of Columbia University. He had been employed as a Financial Trader. In his spare time, Peter enjoyed watching baseball and football. A cultured man, Peter loved to listen to classical music, visit the opera and ballet. Peter also loved to cook and watch old western movies. He will be dearly missed.
Peter is survived by his loving children; Peter E. Groff and his fiancée, Sarah Queeney, both of Marlborough, Kelley and her husband, Steve Palazzolo of Cincinnati, Ohio, Reed and his wife Kristen Donoghue of Park City, Utah, Ryan and his wife Krystle Donoghue of Norfolk and Katy and her husband, Preston Hoffman-Williamson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Peter was also the loving father of the late John K. 'Ken' Groff.
