Edith Mae (Morrison) Boone passed peacefully into the loving arms of her savior, Jesus Christ, on September 29, 2026.
She was born the only daughter of William G. Morrison and Alma Ruth Lawhead on January 8, 1930 in Frankfort, IN.
As a teenager, her family moved to Anderson where, in high school, she met the love of her life, Eddie. Together they walked hand in hand for 78 years meeting life’s challenges and celebrating life’s triumphs. They worked hard everyday to make the best life possible for their three children, Sue, Jim, and Claire.
Edith was not an idle person and it showed in her many talents. At a young age, she began sewing and became an amazing seamstress. She had a beautiful harmonizing voice and loved all kinds of dancing, especially line dancing with Eddie. In 1964 at the age of 34, Edith started her own business; Edith’s Beauty Shop. This was a place of love, laughter, and even therapy for family, friends, and neighbors for years to come.
Edith was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She sang in the choir, volunteered in the prayer room, and made her famous noodles for funeral dinners. For many years she studied the bible through Bible Study Fellowship and became a group leader where she met countless ladies who became friends in Christ.
Edith is survived by her husband, Eddie; daughters, Susan Elijah, Claire Barber; daughter-in-law, Ronna Boone; brother, David (Kim) Morrison; special cousin, Becky Turner; grandchildren, Jeff (Lynnette) Boone, Eric (Mollie) Elijah, Adrienne (Keith) Wildman, Molly (Brent) Shreve, Jay Barber; great-grandchildren, Joanna (Andrew) Zumwalt, Jack Elijah, Grace Elijah, Wyatt Elijah, Whitney (Gerrit) Hallock, Mackenzie (Caleb) Cleek, Kelsey (Brennan) Maslowski, Gunner (Noelle) Boone, Jack (Marion) Wildman, Shepherd Shreve, Foster Shreve, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law, Adrene Boone Detrick, father-in-law, Theodore Boone, son, James R. (Jim) Boone, son-in-law, Jerry Elijah, brother-in-law, Jimmie Boone, sister-in-law, Geraldine Boone and her precious granddaughter, Nicole Elijah Brown.
At the age of 86, Edith achieved fame as a YouTube star when her video, “Grammy’s Homemade Noodles”, garnered thousands of views and positive comments alike. We never had a holiday meal or special event without a big pot of noodles. We promised her we’d continue the tradition, but they’ll never quite taste the same.
Services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson. Visitation will be 11am-1pm with a memorial service immediately following.
Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
