Obituary

In Loving Memory of Catherine Guadalupe Torres Ballesteros.

Catherine Ballesteros, 78, a resident of Oxnard California, with a heavy heart, passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2026. She left behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and many memories that became treasures to our hearts.

Cathy was born to Gregory and Gloria Torres on August 2, 1948, was raised in Whittier, California, and attended La Puente High School. She moved to Oxnard in 1965 at 17 years old. She married Bobby, the love of her life, on April 16, 1971 and remained lifetime best friends. They had one child, Michell. Cathy worked at Casa Sirena Hotel as a Supervisor then became a Manager alongside her husband Bobby at Circle K on B Street.

Cathy was definitely a one-of-a-kind woman with the biggest heart and an unforgettable laugh who enjoyed her love of music and dancing, even at 78. Her favorite dance partner of all time was always her love Bobby, then her daughter Michell became her dance partner while cooking in the kitchen. She really enjoyed concerts in the car with her daughter, even on her last car ride the day she went into the hospital. She loved watching all her shows, especially General Hospital and Yellowstone because she loved her TV so much. She was known for snacking on her sweets, even waking up in the middle of the night at 1 am and going to the kitchen to eat her hostess cupcake with a glass of milk, because she was dreaming about it. She loved her "sweet" tea and Chardonnay, and of course, Micheladas with her Dee Dee, whom she saw as a second daughter and the reason why we all have funny memories of her. Her all time favorite was hanging out with family, especially her 3 boys; Jason "Peanut", Angel, and Mcdow "Nathaniel". In her heart she had 3 grandkids, and loved being a part of their shenanigans, especially when she was the main person in their jokes. She loved going through all the memories, especially with Jonni "Tia Jonell". She loved always talking with her brother about memories, their love of music and just catching up. That, and many more countless memories that she had with everyone that crossed her path during all her chapters of life. She is definitely one that will never be forgotten, because of all the joyful memories she stamped in all our hearts. Mom, I Love you and Miss You so much as well as everyone else, and I know you are finally dancing with Dad again, and talking and laughing with Peanut, hugging him so tight because I asked. May you shower me and everyone that loves you with a Dragonfly, because that's what you told me you were coming back as.

Cathy is preceded in death by her Mom Gloria, her Dad Gregory, her Brother Tommy "Tomato", her ex-husband "Best friend" Bobby, and her Grandson Jason "Peanut".

She is survived by her Daughter Michell, her Daughter Daniela, her Grandsons Mcdow Nathaniel and Angel, her brother Henry "Hanky", and many more family members.

Dance and sing with the Angels, we love you
It's not goodbye, it's goodnight for now...
Mom, we are the remembers, we keep the ones who are gone from us alive in our hearts and minds...
