Doris L. (Bernier) Pineau, 93, of Somerset, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alcide Pineau with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
Doris was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Antoine and Alma (LaFlamme) Bernier and had resided in Westport for most of her life before relocating to Somerset. Prior to retirement, she worked as a seamstress for the former Stella Anne in Fall River and then as a cafeteria worker at Westport High School. She enjoyed playing cards, BINGO, Scrabble, and taking trips to the casino to play the slots and poker machines. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport. Doris' greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially afternoons on Watuppa Pond.
Survivors include her 2 children: Diane Wingate and her husband Bruce of Westport and David Pineau and his wife Linda of Westport. She was also blessed with 8 grandchildren (Jennifer Xavier, Julie Butter (husband David), Amy Speed-Henley (husband Cameron), Matthew Wingate (wife Kelly), Eric Wingate (wife Bri), Lauren Pineau, Alyssa Pineau, and Cara Kushner (husband Sam)) and 9 great grandchildren (Jacob, Leah, Kaelyn, Audrey, Skylar, Riley, Colette, Walter, and Olive); along with many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Richard Pineau and predeceased by her sister Bertha Labonte and brother Donald Bernier.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, October 5, 2026 at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Monday at Potter Funeral Home from 9-10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
