Carol "Kay" Cade, 87, formerly of Chesterfield passed away on September 18, 2026 at Silver Birch Senior Living in Muncie following an extended illness.
She was born on May 20, 1939 in Crawfordsville, IN to Claude M. and Opal (Douglas) French. She was a unit secretary at St. John's Health System and retired from the Anderson Center in 2001.
She enjoyed reading and attending her women's Bible study at Silver Birch Senior Living. She loved spending time with her family and talking on the phone to her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Robin (Larry) Hamilton of Goshen, IN and Shari (Danny) Dicken of Yorktown; a son-in-law. DeWayne Jefferson of Anderson; a brother, Randy (Susan) French of Tucson, AZ; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Watson and Barbara Ashley both of Anderson and Donna Cade of Chesterfield; five grandchildren, Lucas (Amber) Jefferson, Emily (Nicholas) Fitt, Rachel Richard, Lacy (Steven Jackson) Dicken, and Kayla (Cecil) Stephenson; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Cade; a daughter, Cindy Jefferson; and seven siblings.
A graveside service will be at 1:30pm on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield with Pastor Greg Lex officiating.
