Shirley Pridgen Knight, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2PM, Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Donald Cole officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ms. Knight was born December 1, 1940, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Jack & Lizzie Mae Smith Pridgen. She was a 1959 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and worked as a cashier for numerous stores throughout the community. Ms. Knight was a hard worker and enjoying her flowers and tending to her garden when her health allowed. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, working crossword puzzles but most of all she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Ms. Knight was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Knight is survived by her children: Jeffrey Knight of Fitzgerald and Stephanie McCranie (Cliff) of Eastman; grandsons: Logan McCranie and Max McCranie both of Eastman and a nephew; Stacy Frazier (Kim) of Waycross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Taylor.
