Saintilia Ruth (Hyppolite) Monperous, 100, went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2026, surrounded by her family in Anderson following an extended illness.
She was born on September14, 1925 in Gauthier, Haiti to Dulain and Claire Mancie (Vilson) Hyppolite. She married her husband, Rev. Peter Occius Monperous on March 25, 1952. She was an incredibly talented tailor and seamstress. She loved to sew.
She was a member of Park Place Church of God. She loved to sing in the choir. She was exceedingly kind, loving and generous person who loved helping people and had a very big heart. She loved having a daycare where she enjoyed babysitting kids. She did a lot of charity work to help people.
She is survived by her five children, Nadia (Marten) Scheffers of Tallahassee, FL, Mireille Monperous of Frederick, MD, Rev. Serge Monperous of Anderson, Elsie Marino of Frederick, MD and Jean-Claude Jude Monperous of Anderson; five grandchildren, Alexandra Rachelle (Michael) Deitemyer, Diana Michelle (Julio) Edwards, Christina (Marques) Corbin, Francisco Javier Marino, and Marielle Scheffers; six great-grandchildren, Vincent Giovani Edwards, Sofia Michelle Edwards, Olivia Grace Deitemyer, Nathan Deitemyer, Aria Michelle Corbin and Zora Saintilia Corbin; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Rev. Peter Occius Monperous; two sisters; four brothers; and a daughter-in-law, Dr. Margo J. Carrancejie.
A private service will be held at Park Place Church of God with burial at East Maplewood Cemetery.
