BALDWIN- Daren "Papa-D" "Ol' Hiram" L. Eastman, age 59, passed away peacefully at home in Baldwin on September 13, 2026. Daren was born on November 25,1966 in North Conway N.H to the late Bernard and Helen (Gilpatrick) Eastman. He grew up in Hiram and attended local schools and graduated from Sacopee Valley High School in 1985. He married Lisa Pease in 1986 and together they had four boys. Daren met his second wife Norieta (Soy) (Brogren) Eastman in 2013, and they had one son in 2015.
Daren worked at a local apple orchard and then started working for Hammond lumber in 1986 where he continued working for 20 years with them until they closed. After that he went to work at Limington lumber where he worked until his death. Daren had a passion for hunting, trapping and fishing from an early age and continued throughout his life. He was always willing to share his outdoors experiences and knowledge to anyone, especially to his sons and grandchildren. Daren competed in bow competitions with his friend Delbert and would go up North bear hunting with his friends. He went on a moose hunt with his family where his son Joshua and Lisa where they were both successful. Daren also loved seeing his grandkids, Landon and Hudson get their first deer. Last year he got to see his youngest son Jake get his first deer. He was so proud.
From the woods of northern Maine, through its streams, ponds and lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. Daren's happy place was doing activities such as hunting, fishing, ice fishing, trapping, bike riding, four wheeling and camping in the great outdoors with his family. He loved the month of November where he would be in the woods from sunup to sundown.
No matter who you were or where you were, Daren would help anyone he could. He would give you the shirt off his back. Whether you needed helped with hunting, fishing, trapping or carpentry, he would be there to help solve any problem. He was such a caring person.
Daren always had a story to tell and usually it involved at least one of his sons. He loved them all dearly and was so proud of them all.
Daren loved Christmas or maybe he loved the memories of the Christmas past. He was always the first to show up for family gatherings and Christmas get togethers-he wanted his share of his cousins Jan's lasagna and Jill's rolls. Daren will be sorely missed by his many friends and hunting and fishing buddies.
He will be deeply missed by his family.
He is predeceased by his parents-Bernard and Helen (Gilpatrick) Eastman, his sister-Dorcey Poitras, his brother-Danny Eastman. He is survived by his wife- Noretia (Soy) (Brogren) Eastman, his five sons-Joshua Eastman and his wife Sara, Rusty Eastman and his wife Kayla, Casey Eastman and his wife Elizabeth, Wyatt Eastman and his fiancé Tara, Jake and his dog Hank. His Grandchildren-Kylie, Landon, Hudson, Izabelle, Memphis, Mazie. His "like a son"- Mitchell Burnell and his wife Ava. His sisters-Debbie Harmon and her husband Lenny, Lorry Lyons and her husband David and his cousins-Julie and her husband Frank, Jill Morris, Ann Morris, Jan Breslin and her husband Ron.
