DEROMA, Kathleen F. (Farrell) of Hyde Park passed away on September 7, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Florindo Francis DeRoma of Hyde Park. Loving mother of Christopher Michael DeRoma of Naples, FLA. Cherished grandmother of Charles X. DeRoma also of Naples. Caring sister of Patricia Shields of Weymouth, Timothy Farrell of Wall Township, NJ, Mary Hickey of Norton and Lisa O’Brien of West Roxbury. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Patricia Farrell. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Kathy was a dedicated public servant, who proudly served the Federal Bureau of Investigation for over 27 years. Throughout her distinguished career, she served as Squad Secretary and Rotor Clerk, providing vital administrative and operational support to the Bank Robbery Task Force and the Violent Fugitive Task Force in Boston.
Kathy took deep pride in her contributions to the FBI’s mission in Boston, including her notable support on the James "Whitey" Bulger investigation, and her work during the September 11th attacks in 2001.
A visitation will be held at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY, MA. 02132 on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 9-11am, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre St, West Roxbury. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
