
Constance "Connie" Hanson, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, at Care One in Peabody, MA. Born on March 27, 1938, in Chelsea, MA. Connie was the cherished daughter of the late Marion and Arnold Cummings. Throughout her life, she touched many with her warmth, grace, and boundless capacity for love.
Connie's early years were marked by her passion for dance. A gifted and talented dancer, she devoted many years to teaching dance, sharing her love for the art with countless students. Her grace and elegance were not only displayed on the dance floor but were evident in the way she lived her life.
Connie attended Saugus High School, where she began to forge lifelong friendships and develop the skills that would serve her throughout her life. She was a devoted mother who raised her four boys in a home filled with laughter and love. Her sons, Jeffrey (Terry), Scott (Ellen), and Keith (Jill), were her pride and joy, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and success.
Family was the cornerstone of Connie's life, and she was most happy when surrounded by her loved ones. Her 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren were a constant source of joy and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her home was always filled with warmth, and love.
Connie was predeceased by her beloved son Gary "Earl" Hanson. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Care One and Ascend for their unwavering dedication and compassionate care provided to Connie during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Connie's memory to the MSPCA North East Animal Shelter, Salem, MA honoring her love for animals and her commitment to their welfare.
Private services will be held to celebrate Connie's life, as the family comes together to honor her memory and the indelible mark she left on their hearts.
