Kristin Michelle Purdy of New York, NY, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on March 17, 2026. Beloved daughter of Mary Catherine (Gorham) Purdy and the late David Purdy of West Roxbury. Dear sister of Lauren Purdy of West Roxbury and the late Jennifer Purdy. Loving aunt of Jordan Lymon and Arya Ransom. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
Kristin attended Boston Latin School and the honors program at UMASS Amherst. She later pursued her master’s degree and was awarded two degrees from Oxford University. Kristin settled in New York and began working as an editor in various academic publishing companies. She also offered her services, editing papers from various authors.
Kristin loved the color green. We hope to see many wearing this color at her memorial service. She would be so pleased to be remembered in this way.
During the Covid crisis, Kristin spent time volunteering at a small animal shelter near her home in Brooklyn. She continued walking dogs and spending time there. We request that in lieu of flowers, donations could be sent to this organization. It is the Sean Casey Animal Rescue located on 153 East 3rd St. in Brooklyn New York 11218.
