Jean Reitz of Anderson, IN and recently of Fishers, IN passed away September 4, 2026, at the age of 98.
She was born on the Peace Bridge en route to the USA. Her parents, Albert and Lillian Boelke wanted her to be a US citizen on her very first day. They made it to the US side of the bridge that date January 13, 1928.
In 1949, Jean became the wife of Robert (Bob) Reitz, the love of her life. For 72 years they loved beyond measure. They were an example her friends and family treasure.
Nursing was Jean’s chosen profession but games - especially golf - were her true obsession. A sports and game enthusiast was she. If friends were gathered, that’s where she would be. Her home was always a welcoming space. A laughing and loving gathering place. Her homemade cookies were treats to prize, but they may have been topped by her legendary pies. She used her spiritual gifts to impart that she loved the Lord with all her heart.
