
Janie Maxine Miles, 77, of Ocilla, died Monday, September 7, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Thursday, September 10, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. George Carroll Paulk & Pastor Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Lax Holiness Cemetery, in Coffee County. The family will receive from 6 PM until 8 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Miles was born March 16, 1949, in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Max & Nettie Lorene Chaney Sirmans. She was a graduate of McEvoy High School in Macon, Georgia and obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing certificate, working in nursing for over 25 years. She thoroughly enjoyed working in L & D department, delivering babies. Mrs. Miles loved cooking and always helping others any way she could, she was a selfless person. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Miles was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, David Miles; children: Kelly Diane Dixon (Joel) of Abbeville, Christopher Michael Parker (Lacee) of Ocilla and Hope Leanne Floyd (Timothy) of Ocilla; grandchildren: Madison Nicole Presley, Randall Lee Presley, Joel Edward Quinn III, William Anthony Quinn, James W. Quinn and Kailyn S. Quinn all of Abbeville; Peyton M. Parker, Ansleigh M Parker, Aarlynn M. Parker, Selena Grace Cowart, Timothy DeWayne Floyd, Jr., Tristan R. Floyd, Aribella Rose Jade Culbertson all of Ocilla; great grandchildren: Thomas Joel Quinn and Nate Harper; a sister, Darlene Holley of Kathleen; a niece, Amy Brown (Allan) of Warner Robins; a great niece, Allison Brown of Warner Robins; and a special friend, Johnny Brown of Fitzgerald.
