ITRI, Josephine “Jo” (Caprera) November 8, 1931 – September 6, 2026
Josephine “Jo” Itri passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 6, 2026, at the age of 94.
To know Jo was to know someone who was truly full of life. She had a warmth and spirit that drew people to her. She truly lived life out loud. Her voice could always be heard across the room. Her laugh was infectious. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, but most of all, she found her greatest joy in her family.
Jo and her beloved husband, Bob, shared 74 years of marriage—a lifetime of love, companionship, laughter, and memories. Together, they created a family filled with love and a home where everyone was welcomed.
Jo is survived by her husband, Bob; her daughter, Patricia; her sons, Rob (Dawn) and Mark (Sherry); and her grandchildren, Mia, Dillon, and Justin.
For Jo, cooking was one of the ways she said “I love you.” She was a wonderful cook, and the meals she prepared brought everyone together. Her food was never simply about the meal—it was about family, sharing, caring, and making the people she loved feel special. Many of the memories her family will treasure most will undoubtedly include a table filled with her cooking, conversation, and laughter.
Jo had a special gift for making people happy. She gave so much of herself to those around her, and her love and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She lived with a generous heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and an appreciation for the people she loved. And even though she may have broken a few wooden spoons teaching her boys life lessons--which they undoubtedly deserved to learn--the wisdom she imparted with each stroke was delivered with love. Her boys are better for it today and laugh about it now (not so much then).
Her family will miss her laughter, her cooking, her stories, and most of all, simply having her there. While the loss of Jo leaves an enormous space in their lives, the love she gave them will remain forever.
She was deeply loved, she brought tremendous joy to those around her, and she will be missed more than words can say.
Rest peacefully, Jo. Your love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will live on in all of us. Visitation and funeral services will be private.
